FONTANA, Calif. – Garrett Smithley, racing for only the second time at Auto Club Speedway, scored a 26th-place finish in Saturday’s Service King 300 Xfinity Series race.

Smithley qualified 30th and stayed with the main pack much of the day, finishing the race on the lead lap.

He moved from 16th to 15th in Xfinity points.

“Not a bad day for us,” Smithley said. “I was looking at getting a higher finish, but all things considered it worked out pretty well, and we brought the car home.”

Kyle Larson won the race, and Elliott Sadler kept the point lead.

Texas Motor Speedway will host the next Xfinity race April 8.
